We decorated earlier than usual this year, breaking the eighteen-year tradition of waiting until December First. It made me feel a little sad, in all honesty, this year has been all change. Mostly expected change, but it never makes it any less shocking. It's hotter this year, too. The past couple of years have been tolerable Decembers and reasonably cool Christmases. Not this year, though. I don't think I will ever be whole until I've spent a Christmas somewhere with snow. Firs and roast dinner and dresses with fur trim all make more sense if it's Winter. "Six White Boomers" and "Surfing Santa" just make me feel even sadder. Despite all that, though, Christmas is my favourite time of the year, no matter what the weather's like.
Oh my! I'm so glad I found your magical, secret spot on the internet. I can't wait to put up and decorate my tree, it's going to be so lovely (but not as lovely as your display I don't think)

P.S I can completely relate with you on the weather. How I wish wish wish I could experience a white Christmas
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear. And yes, each Christmas brings a wish that I could be somewhere else, but somehow I feel like it also wouldn't be the same unless my family were there too. x
